Loyola Maryland introduces refreshed brand and “Moved To Be More” campaign

ݮƵ is launching a refreshed institutional brand, including a new visual identity and campaign platform designed to reflect the University's momentum, mission, and vision for the future.
The refresh introduces Moved To Be More, a new campaign that conveys Loyola's transformative educational experience. Inspired by the Jesuit concept of the magis—the call to seek "the more" in learning, leadership, and service—the campaign also carries a connection to Baltimore.
"For 175 years, Loyola has remained true to our Jesuit mission while evolving to meet the needs of new generations," said Terrence M. Sawyer, J.D., president. "This brand refresh captures the strength of our community, the momentum of our strategic plan, and our ongoing commitment to preparing graduates who are ready to lead meaningful lives and make a difference in the world."
With the brand refresh, Loyola Maryland will be used as the University's primary name in many communications. While the institution's official name remains Loyola University Maryland, the updated approach reflects the recognition and reputation the University has established while creating a more concise and accessible brand presence.
The University's visual identity has been refined, including an updated Loyola green that aligns more closely with the color long associated with Loyola Athletics. The change strengthens consistency across the institution while honoring the pride, visibility, and energy generated by Greyhound student-athletes and fans.
The refreshed brand will appear in communications, digital platforms, admission materials, signage, and marketing initiatives. In recent days, banners promoting the new brand unfurled on buildings and poles around the Evergreen campus, ready to welcome returning students and the incoming members of the Class of 2030.
"The brand refresh reflects Loyola’s rich history, current energy, and future direction. It builds on our strong reputation, celebrates what makes us distinctive, and gives us a compelling way to share our story with prospective and current students, families, alumni, employees, and the broader community," said Kristen Campbell McGuire, chief marketing officer.
Loyola partnered with Mission, a Baltimore-based advertising agency, to refresh and amplify its brand identity in alignment with the institution's strategic plan, Together We Rise, which launched in 2024 under Sawyer’s leadership.
The refreshed brand is the culmination of a comprehensive, 18-month research and discovery process that engaged current and prospective students, alumni, faculty, staff, administrators, board members, and other stakeholders. Virginia-based Edge Research worked with Mission to collect and analyze qualitative and quantitative feedback, ensuring that the new brand reflects the University's strengths, aspirations, and distinct place in higher education.
